The scalloped motif of the Mauritius Necklace unfolds in sections, each layered in design. Pear-shaped blue sapphires are embraced by lighter pear-shaped sapphires, outlined by a crest of round brilliant-cut diamonds. This visual cadence is repeated along the neckline, like waves washing along a beach. At the focal point, the deep blue waters give way to a turquoise lagoon, in the form of a cushion-cut electric blue paraiba tourmaline. A 4.90 carat paraiba tourmaline drop finishes the piece with a shimmering sensation of depth.

Mauritius Earrings
The earrings of the Mauritius suite are crafted to convey the balanced composition of the necklace to the contours of the face. Each is anchored by a Mozambique tourmaline and a Sri Lanka sapphire, representing the varying shades of the Indian ocean as it embraces the Mauritius islands. A glittering rim of diamonds lends each earring the dazzling sparkle of sun on the surface of the sea.
To create the Mauritius Necklace and Earrings, sapphires and paraibas must be carefully sourced for their matching and contrasting colors. Only in this way can Winston artisans create the sculptural representation of water at two different depths: the profundity of the ocean, and the protected shallow of a lagoon.
